Off-Season Checkups

by Dave Sturges

With the colder months with us, it is a good time to do some of the things that were not done during the main driving season. Check your tires for tread wear and any cracking in the treads and sidewalls. Also, you may want to rotate the tires per your tire manufacturer's specifications. Don't forget to check the torque on the lug nuts as you don't want the left rear wheel to pass you on the road. If you have the rear wheels off your car, check the torque on the rear axle to hub nuts. I'll bet one or both are loose.
